The quest for the perfect camera strap

Now just as I believe there is no such thing as the perfect camera bag, I also don’t believe there is a perfect camera strap but I think it might be easier to come close. I am in need of a stronger and sturdier camera strap. My camera weighs quite a bit these days and I just don’t trust my current strap to hold it all. So I set off on the task of finding myself a new strap. I thought who better to ask then my fellow photography friends.

I think the straps that got the biggest vote was for Phat Straps on Etsy. They have a wide variety of fabrics to choose from and fun add-on options like minky lining and a CF/SD card holder. From the sounds of it the minky lining is pretty darn popular. Everyone said they felt their camera was secure on this strap and several had gear as heavy as mine they are lugging around. I also like that the strap comes in a longer length so it can be worn across the body.

Other straps that were recommended were the gorgeous ones Debra makes. I actually have one on my other camera and I love it. Super comfy and sturdy, it just isn’t long enough to wear across my body so it stays on the other camera for now. But I hear she makes them longer so it is a serious consideration…

In the cute category two other seller came up. One was another Etsy seller VMJess (Yes I am slightly adicted to Etsy) and the other is a company called My Funky Camera. Both have really cute ones available.

Of course there are ones that are not as cute that were recommended like Rapid Straps which I love but don’t care for the idea of having to remove my camera strap to put my camera on a tripod, it just doesn’t suit my style of shooting. Then there was the pelican camera straps. But I am worried about the smell of the neoprene. I know my shootsac smelled for a while when I first got it. I also looked at the Tamrac shock absorbing ones. They are still on my list of consideration.

I know there is tons of other options out there. So feel free to add your recommendations below in the comments section. I have a feeling just like my camera bags I will have several different straps to use to suit my mood and outfits.

As an FYI my current strap that I don’t feel confident in was made by someone that is no longer making them.

I promise to come back and update everyone with my purchase decision… It is not an easy choice. LOL

Introducing digital frames

Frames come as an approximate 12×12 layered PSD file. Choose your favorite patterned paper and use the clipping mask, or pick a favorite pattern and use it as an overlay.
