Trying out my new lens….

My new macro lens arrived today and I had to try it out.  I knew I was going to love it but its even better than I imagined.  I only played around with it for a few minutes so I am looking forward to having some time to really try it out later this coming weekend.  Here are a few of my favorites..

This next one is just zoomed in on the picture above it.    I love how sharp the details are.  Although just seeing that pollen makes my nose itch..

This spent rose kind of represents how I have been feeling the last couple of weeks, hopefully I will be feeling a bit more lively and vibrant in the coming weeks.

Just love the colors and shape of these blooms..

Of course I had to try a little fun with processing too while I was at it..

All in all really happy with this purchase that I have been toying with for months now.  Can’t wait to try it out as a portrait lens soon.

The Boy and What’s Her Name go to Intercourse

For whatever reason my grandmother can’t remember Susie and Mitch’s names.  So she refers to them as “The Boy” and “What’s Her Name”.    It has been become their new nick names for now.

Over the 4th of July weekend we decide to take a trip out to Amish country since neither had been there before.  I chose intercourse because it gave us something to crack jokes about on the way there.  They slept on the way home, making the trip home ultimately more boring for me.

A few pictures from our trip.

There is no good excuse

I can freely admit there is no good excuse for my lack of blogging the last several months.  I have been taking some time off from pictures but have not completely retired my camera.  I can’t possibly catch up on everything so here are a few highlights…

Sweet little Ellie turned 2 and got a new baby brother Greysen.  He is 100% adorable and loveable..  And has a very full head of hair.  Yes even the ones related to me flip me off when doing pictures…

My foster parents came home from their mission so I got to see the WHOLE family on a quick weekend trip.  It was wonderful.  I did a large family picture with all the kids and grandkids One of my favorite pics from the day though is this one…  She is her Mother’s daughter.

I threw a baby shower for my best friend, Kelly.  I think it turned out really nice and that she was glad I kept bugging her to let me do it till she finally caved in.  SHe didn’t know what she was having so it was a gender neutral shower.

I got to see Christopher play ball.

My Best friend finally had her little boy 10 days late.

Of course it is kitten season and I have been fostering for a couple months.  I currently have 9 kittens waiting for their turn in the adoption center. I think I have fostered a total of 17 different kittens this spring.  Its been crazy.

I turned another year older.  Sorry no pictures.   But I did spend the day with family and friends.

I have had birds building nests in my garage.

I think the biggest thing that has changed around here is that My sister and her Hubby and their sweet little dog are living with us right now.  They had been planning to move to New York but both landed jobs in the Philly area and are staying close by.  Now that they have jobs they are looking for a place to call home.  Till then I get to have them here and I LOVE it.  Been so wonderful having my baby sister close by.  I look forward to doing lots more with her and Mitch.  Dottie and Grover love having Vivian around too.

Happy Anniversary Baby Sister!!

For some reason I never really blogged my baby sister’s wedding pictures last year.  So I thought it was fitting to Blog them today since it is her 1 year anniversary.

Stunning couple!

Apparently Mitch isn’t the only member of the Boyer Household that has a thing for Susie, here is his little brother stealing a kiss from his new sister-in-law!

It was the perfect day and we were all so happy to be there celebrating with Susie and Mitch.  Since this is my blog and it was my baby sister’s wedding and I just couldn’t narrow down the pictures I wanted to share here is a collage of way too many pictures from their special day!

Happy Anniversary Susie and Mitch!

Love it when they are excited for pictures

Its always great when a family is excited about having their family portrait taken. My friend Elizabeth is one that was very excited about it. Her session was later in the fall and on the chilly side but that did not dampen her enthusiasm, the kids were less enthused though.  They hung in there great though.

I can understand her excitement though. I mean if you had such a cute family wouldn’t you be excited to capture this time in their lives.

As with most cute kids it comes from their genetically blessed parents.

These two truly are best friends and adore each other, it makes me love this picture even more!!

When husbands ask for pictures of just their wives for their desk at work it always makes me smile. Sometimes women don’t like to have our picture taken solo but Elizabeth was a star and let me get some great shots of her. Isn’t she beautiful?

Next year she is aiming for some fall colors so she made sure she got on the fall session list early. Elizabeth I hope you know how much I adore you and I look forward to all future photo sessions.
